Pricing

SalterEditing provides business editing services at a rate that approaches the average for the industry. Our rates depend on the type of work to be done. We categorize our services into five groupings: proofreading, copyediting, content editing, draft development, and research development.  

Our Pricing Structure

REGULAR EDITING            $  80 per hour

Proofreading: accuracy of fundamentals – typographical errors, misspellings, grammatical errors, incorrect spacing, minor anomalies in formatting

Copyediting: ensuring qualitative conventions of good writing – grammatical and cosmetic mistakes; accuracy, consistency, and overall flow; sentences rearranged, words changed, facts checked

Content Editing: shaping the prose development, style, and flow and/or developing and arranging document configuration for highly formatted text

DRAFT DEVELOPMENT  $100 per hour

Draft writing of data already gathered

RESEARCH                       $120 per hour

Data gathering for projects as well as draft development

• If hard copies or other expenses are required, SalterEditing will invoice out-of-pocket expenses at cost.
• If our client requires on-site presence, SalterEditing will invoice an hourly rate of $30 for all hours on site and one-half the hourly rate for travel both ways between our office and the site. This is in addition to editing service fees and travel expenses.
• SalterEditing will submit monthly invoices for its incurred costs with supporting documents as needed for that month's services.
• The client will remit payment to SalterEditing within 30 days of invoice. Late charges of 5% per month will be added to accounts overdue by more than 30 days.
